Smooth like Black People
I have a quick little recommendation for you.
A few weeks ago, I ran into this amazing soap when I jumped into my roommate's shower (they are girls) -
- Amazing African Black Soap
(check out the ratings - it's a hidden gem)
(I get a 4-5% commission if you purchase - about $.75-1.00 in most cases)
Though it looks completely odd (black soap?), it's literally like washing yourself with expensive lotion - it's actually made with coconut oil, palm oil and shea butter.
(black people love shea butter)
I was surprised.
According to Kelli (she's the cute blonde that sometimes helps out with the seasonal fashion guides), this soap is excellent for ALL skin types.
Dry, oily, sensitive, acne prone, black, white, homosexual, scientologist - it doesn't matter what your ethnicity is.
You can use it on your face - I do so aggressively in the shower.
(I don't use any face wash anymore)
Both she and some of the other girls in the house use it on their face (attractive women are VERY PARTICULAR about what they put on their face).
From the description -
"Heritage African Black Soap, made from palm ash, tamarind extract, tar and plantain peel has been used in Africa for centuries to treat eczema, acne, oily skin, psoriasis, and other skin ailments."
This soap is will clear your skin and moisturize it.
Unlike most "hippie" soaps - this natural soap actually can be worked into a solid lather even though it DOES NOT contain sodium laurel sulfate.
It's inexpensive too.
(Call me a crusty old man but I have always preferred bar soap to body wash - because it tends to last WAY longer)
The soap contains little oatmeal flakes that help exfoliate the skin and clear away dead skin cells.
My skin is always pretty clear but tends to get pretty dry in the middle of summer and winter (the West Coast is really dry).
With this soap, in combination with something else I've been using (I'll tell you soon), my skin hasn't been flaking and I don't even have use lotion. This soap is the moisturizer.
It's hard to communicate "how it smells," but I'd say it is close to the just-got-off-the-beach smell.
Not sweaty. Not like completely like suntan lotion - just "beachy".
I consider this a great smell.
(I'm partial to that smell. I remember it back to as early as 2001 - from the incredible feeling I'd get after meeting a hot girl on the beach and knowing we'd be hooking up later that night)
Couple that with the Official Good Looking Loser Cologne (mad inexpensive too) and you'll be the best smelling human and the other lesser, inferior humans will know it.
More importantly, this soap has a lot of quality and healthful ingredients that mainstream soaps simply do not have-
African Black Soap (Base), Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Meal, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Plantain Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Vegetable Glycerin, Mineral Pigment, Vegetable Color, Essential Oil Blend
For the record, I have no idea how useful it will against acne. I never had that issue. I imagine it would as good if not better than any natural topical agent. Acne, like hair loss and other DHT-based conditions, happens from the inside-out. It is rare that topical treatments make much of a difference. But it's certainly worth a try.
I'm by no means a cosmetologist but I have a good idea of what does/doesn't clear up dry skin and what masculine guys will benefit from while not feeling like a homosexual.
I'm sure you'll like this and you may never buy another type of shower soap again.
